1. Why is it your policy to not give refunds or credits for missed classes?
2. Why do you not offer a “Pay-as-you-go Option?”
3. Why do you encourage UNLIMITED ATTENDANCE?
Since the answer is the same for these questions, I grouped them together:
When you register your child for a Kids’ MusicRound semester, your tuition is based on $65 for registration and music materials (2 excellent CD’s and a Songbook produced exclusively and expertly by Kids’ MusicRound, LLC), plus $11 per class for ten classes, for a total of $175. (Additional siblings over age one are $100 TOTAL. Siblings under age one are FREE!) I do not offer a cheaper option based on less attendance. I am trying to provide you with an extremely high-quality experience, and at the same time run my business and make a living. Both of these goals are affected negatively if I offer my customers an economic incentive to skip classes.
The quality of the program is greatly enhanced when you and your child attend regularly. To ensure that quality, and to maximize the value you get for your tuition dollars, I introduced my UNLIMITED ATTENDANCE policy. Although you register and pay for a particular class time, you are welcome and encouraged to come to as many additional classes each week as you like. NO OTHER PROGRAM OFFERS THIS FLEXIBILITY AND VALUE! Since there are over 100 classes available to attend in the course of the ten week semester, I do not offer refunds or credits for missed classes. (I do, of course, reschedule any classes that I need to cancel. Also, new customers who only found out about the program after the semester has begun will, if appropriate, be pro-rated in).
4. Why is food not permitted in the Mixed Age classes?
a. Food allergies
b. Choking potential
c. Sharing issues
d. Distraction from the activities occurring.
e. Allowing your toddler to eat encourages him (and all the other children who see him eating) to become passive observers; the point of the program is to encourage and model active participation.
f. Water bottles, sippy cups and breastfeeding are all allowed in class.
Please feel free to submit your questions! Thanks!

Jumpin’ Jive on Sunday morning!
New families are always welcome to come visit a KMR Cherry Hill class to see what all the fun is about! As a NON-PERFORMANCE, NO PRESSURE-ON-THE-KIDS ACTIVITY, the adult needs to accept that the children are ALLOWED TO CHOOSE THEIR OWN LEVELS OF PARTICIPATION. Every child (and grown-up, for that matter!) has his own way of acclimating to a situation, his own pace for trying new activities, and his own comfort zone. The adult needs to accept that, and understand that these personal levels CONSTANTLY CHANGE throughout the class. As each hand motion, song, instrument or dance step changes, each child makes his own leap into or out of the activity. The adult’s role, however, remains consistent—don’t nag your child, don’t get in his face, don’t clap his hands for him. DO: Model the behavior, try the instruments, clap your hands with spirit, and act like you are having as much fun as you possibly can. And fake it until you make it! A child may not dance just because you are—but he will almost surely not try it if you are sitting it out. And don’t worry if the activity that is happening at any given moment isn’t engaging your child, and don’t feel the need to constantly ask if he is okay or wants to leave. In another 30 seconds we may roll out something that he is totally willing to try, and by the end of the class he will have the great feeling of knowing he accomplished something that 45 minutes earlier he might never had tried. Creating the ideal environment for that kind of experience is what we do at Kids’ MusicRound. Exposing your child to it, and making him feel safe to try it, is the parenting component that makes it a true family experience.
